Feature
★A novel about eternal love, the cyclical nature of life, and the importance of enjoying the small things.
Description
A slightly grumpy old man lives in Provence among his vegetable garden and lavender fields. One day, his peaceful existence is turned upside down: his fifteen-year-old grandson, whom he hasn't seen in years, moves in with him after the sudden death of his parents. Their relationship is somewhat complicated: the grandfather tries to teach his grandson about life and the importance of love, but the boy rebels and ends up running away from home. As he grows up, the grandson meets a woman who becomes the love of his life, but she dies, leaving him alone again. After becoming an old man, he returns to his grandfather's house in Provence, having finally understood his teachings, the slow pace of life, and the importance of memories and feelings. Until, one day, his life is turned upside down: his fifteen-year-old grandson suddenly moves in with him. A moving novel about eternal love, the cyclical nature of life, and the importance of enjoying the small things.
Author
Nicola Pesce likes to describe himself as a reader before a writer. Afflicted by Asperger's syndrome, he has chosen to see it as a strength that allows him to see and describe the world in a different way. In love with slow living and the little things, he works every day to actively promote kindness and a love for culture. He is a digital nomad traveling across Italy and the world, armed with old, yellowed notebooks in which he writes his novels and poems.
