Feature

★ A viral sensation on X (formerly Twitter)! This manga essay about the daily reality of being utterly ignored by a pet turtle has earned tens of thousands of likes, struck a deep chord with pet owners, and is now finally available in a long-awaited print edition.
★ The author has kept turtles since 2006. After a spell of living alone without them, loneliness drove her to bring one back to her side. In four-panel comics, she faithfully chronicles the humble, tender life of doting on a creature that never dotes back.
★ A complete catalogue of classic turtle bewilderment: you think it’s looking at you, but it’s just spacing out; food gets stuck on its shell without it ever noticing; it meets your affection with a blank, expressionless face… Every page makes pet owners laugh and tear up at once.
★ Perfect for anyone who has ever kept a pet — especially the aloof, independent kind. A healing comic that will have you crying, “This is exactly what mine does!”
