Feature
★ Taking “Black Square” as the entry point, it fully presents the development of Malevich’s artistic ideas, combining ideological depth and historical value.
★ Deeply interprets the core proposition of “non-objective creation,” revealing the logic behind avant-garde art’s rejection of copying nature to create independent artistic worlds.
Description
This book collects Malevich’s essays from different periods, as well as two of his major works — “Suprematism. The World as Non-Objectivity, or Eternal Peace” and “From the Book on Non-Objectivity” — which collectively reflect his philosophical thoughts and creative principles. In Kazimir Malevich’s view, the core of new art lies in the transition to “new pictorial realism, non-objective creation,” where artists should not copy nature but create their own artistic worlds.
Author
A Russian-Soviet avant-garde painter of Polish descent, educator, art theorist, and philosopher. He was the founder of Suprematism, one of the most important movements in abstract art.
