Feature

★This is a bridge-picture-book series for children aged 7 and up, using light, story-driven text to explore “genius in childhood” and challenge the “genius filter”! It condenses the lives of great artists—such as Michelangelo, Beethoven, Mozart, Picasso, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Yayoi Kusama, and others known as “Renaissance giants,” “universal geniuses,” “sculptural masters,” and the “polka-dot queen”—into a series of adventures: “From Curious Kid to Artistic Legend.”
★The entire series revolves around the idea that “they were just ordinary kids once too,” helping young readers discover that “greatness was once within reach of everyone,” and that the word “genius” is not so far out of their grasp. It also teaches children to stay curious, dare to choose and try new things, and face challenges head-on—so that even a little boy who loves doodling can carve the David that astonishes the world, and a little boy who grumbles about being woken up to practice the piano can compose the Symphony No. 5.

This series comprises 16 books: *Yayoi Kusama*, *Andy Warhol*, *Mozart*, *Picasso*, *Joseph Haydn*, *Handel*, *Beethoven*, *Schubert*, *Schumann*, *Tchaikovsky*, *Leonardo da Vinci*, *Toulouse-Lautrec*, *Bach*, *Johannes Brahms*, *Michelangelo*, and *Chopin*.

Description

Discover the extraordinary life of Michelangelo—one of the greatest artists in human history. From a young age, Michelangelo was immersed in art and surrounded by master artists: as a teenager, he studied fresco painting, and later moved into the magnificent Medici Palace, where his talent quickly caught the eye of the powerful and influential. His story will remind young readers that, before becoming famous, Michelangelo, too, was just a child like them.

P.S. A brief overview of Michelangelo’s life:
• In 1475, Michelangelo was born in the Italian mountain town of Caprese; his mother died early, and his father pursued a political career, yet Michelangelo was captivated only by stone and brushes.
• At the Settignano quarry, where his wet nurse lived, he learned to chisel alongside stonemasons, recognizing hammers and chisels before he could even speak.
• At the age of 13, he became a student of the renowned master Domenico Ghirlandaio, studying fresco painting with his friend Francesco and creating his first works on the walls of Florence.
• At 15, he was brought by “the Magnificent Lorenzo” into the Medici Palace as a resident sculptor, carving marble by day and dining at the same table as nobles by night.
• In his youth, he traveled to Rome, where he sculpted the “Hercules” to honor Lorenzo, and later went on to create masterpieces such as “David,” “The Pietà,” and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel…
