A tasty and humorous tale with a clever (but not too much!) Cat
Roger is a cat who loves cheese, so when he spots a piece of camembert on the sidewalk, his whiskers twitch with excitement! But the mice are already there. Roger is quite annoyed to see the camembert slipping away right under his nose. Unless... I’ve got an idea!? Roger exclaims.
- All I have to do is disguise myself as a mouse!
It's a wonderful idea,’ says Roger, very proud of himself.
Rummaging through the bins, he quickly found everything he needed, not forgetting a piece of mirror to admire himself.
He dipped his tail in pink paint, put shoe polish on his whiskers, made a rodent's head out of newspaper and used a mop to turn himself mouse grey.
Roger is not a very patient cat, so he moves straight to the front of the queue.
He's gone ahead of everyone else, which doesn't please the mice behind him.
Soon it was Roger's turn.
- Say, are you really a mouse?
Roger doesn't dare answer. He knows that if he meows, everyone will realise he's a cat in mouse's clothing.
So he just nods.
- Aren't you going to speak? Roger nods no.
- Ah! I see... You've lost your tongue!
All the mice start laughing.
Roger doesn't understand what's so funny.
- Come on, I'm teasing you! says the mouse, giving him a big piece of Camembert.
A big piece of cheese for the biggest mouse in the world!
Roger is happy, his plan has worked perfectly.
On his way home with his cheese,
Roger hops, Roger whistles, Roger sings and dances!
But what he doesn't realise is that he's entered the territory of the Big Five...
