Marty is no stranger to pop culture authoring. He has also authored several sports-related trade books, including Powerful Moments in Sports: The Most Significant Sporting Events in American History.

After a journalism career in which Marty won more than 45 writing awards, he embarked on a freelance writing career that included coverage of the Cleveland Browns (as opposed to a football team).
