Author

The endless hours of Saturday morning cartoon-watching finally turned into something a bit more practical for Marty Gitlin, who used his wonderful memories and passion for cartoons to co-author this blast of a book titled A Celebration of Animation: The 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters in Television History.

Marty is no stranger to pop culture authoring. His Great American Cereal Book (Harry Abrams, 2012) reached No. 1 in both the Americana and Breakfast Book categories on Amazon and remained there for months. He has also authored several sports-related trade books, including Powerful Moments in Sports: The Most Significant Sporting Events in American History.

After a journalism career in which Marty won more than 45 writing awards, he embarked on a freelance writing career that included coverage of the Cleveland Browns (as opposed to a football team). Marty has had over 130 books published since 2006, many in the educational realm, but several highly successful trade books that have resulted in widespread local and national media coverage.
