Description

The Wandering Tales of a Heartbroken Homebody in Germany!
This is a diary of observations from Germany written by a person in science and engineering, and also a journey of growth that breaks through oneself and finds true love.

There is a kind of heartbreak that involves throwing oneself into a 15-hour flight, 10,000 kilometers away from home, and then starting anew!

Huang Yisen, a doctoral student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan University, was dumped by his girlfriend "Xiu Zi" on her birthday for still being in the department office writing programs; to heal his emotional wounds, he decided to go to Aachen University of Technology in Germany as a research assistant. It was not until he actually set foot on German soil that he realized his imagination of Europe was nothing more than a beautiful oil painting. He couldn't speak the language, couldn't rent a house, and there were no convenience stores on the streets...

What was originally thought to be a journey to heal turned out to be a battle for survival in a foreign land!?

In the laboratory, he had two partners: one was a handsome human generator with no friends; the other was a humanoid robot who didn't need friends; and the Greek who thought he was the boss had the leisure of the Aegean Sea and was accustomed to working with his mouth... These colleagues, engineers from all over the world with very personal characteristics, also added a lot of variables and fun to his life.

This year, Yisen participated in Germany's Carnival, Christmas market, and the hot spring nudist camp where he let go of himself. He has experienced the embarrassment of a homeless person warming up with paper on the snowy Belgian border; he has also encountered a crisis of workplace bullying and finally learned to fight for himself. This life experience that deviates from the norm has made Yisen rethink his life and the importance of Xiu Zi...

After experiencing countless cultural shocks and being infected by the rigor virus of the Germans, he found that Germany is increasingly like his second hometown!

[About This Book]
This book is a semi-autobiographical novel by the mathematical writer Lai Yiwei, describing the details of life from the perspective of a science and engineering homebody, with a barrage of trash talk that is close to "The Big Bang Theory"; humorously depicting the life and thinking of the Germans in this foreign study, it is like an alternative observation of German culture.
