Description

What would Fontane have experienced if he had undertaken his legendary “hikes through the Mark Brandenburg” today? Gabriele Radecke and Robert Rauh wanted to know and followed in the poet's footsteps to picturesque Havelland. Instead of a carriage and a pencil, they travel with a navigation system and a laptop - with not only Fontane's classics in their luggage, but also his unknown sketches and notes. In Marquardt they look for the remains of the mysterious Blue Grotto, in Paretz they talk about the cult of Queen Luise, in Wust they climb into the legendary Katte crypt and in Glindow they visit the historic brick kiln that Fontane already described. The result is a mixture of exciting Fontane reception and modern travel literature. With over 80 illustrations and overview maps.
