Feature
★FROM A GREAT POPULARIZER, AN INCREDIBLE JOURNEY TO THE DISCOVERY OF THE WORLD AROUND US THROUGH THE STORIES OF THE GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS OF SCIENCE.
★Finding out what exists in the Universe beyond the matter we know is one of the great challenges of knowledge and maybe the scientist who will understand it right now is still in school... hey, it could be one of you!
Description
A stone, a snail, an air bubble that rises in a pot of boiling water and everything that comes to mind have something in common: they are made of matter. Everything is made of matter, even you are. Said so it seems obvious, but... what is the matter composed of? For thousands of years countless people have been striving to answer this question. Barbara Gallavotti reveals the recipe "to make the Universe" and provides a detailed guide to its ingredients. Get ready to meet the scientists who have led to the most sensational discoveries in history and to meet, analyze and understand any type of living being: from the giant dinosaurs that furrowed the Earth millions of years ago to the most microscopic bacteria, invisible to the naked eye, passing through the incredible glabrous heterocephalus (never heard of? One more reason to get lost in these pages!). You will understand that each of us contributes to writing the history of Life and that we are all indissolubly linked to each other, here on our beautiful Earth: the only place in the Universe where we can feel at home.
