Author

Ángel Fernández Fermoselle

Born in Valencia, Spain, he worked as a reporter for El Mundo and Marca in foreign countries for many years. In 2005, Fernandez read the English version of Mo Yan's novels. The magical realism style of Mo Yan's works fascinated him; after 2006, he began to organize and systematically promote Mo Yan's works to publishing houses in Spain and the entire Spanish-speaking world. At present, 16 works of Mo Yan have been translated and published.

In 2008, Fernandez specially invited Mo Yan to come to Spain to attend the book launch of the Spanish version of "Song of Garlic in Paradise". Fernandez accompanied Mo Yan to many literary seminars in Madrid and Barcelona, which attracted many readers of Mo Yan and Chinese literature lovers.

For his outstanding contributions to the translation and introduction of Chinese contemporary literature and the dissemination of Chinese culture, in 2015, Fernandez won the 9th China Book Special Contribution Award. "I feel honored to receive this award, and it also strengthens my confidence in continuing to do this work." Fernandez said, "I am very happy to have the opportunity to open a journey of Chinese literature for Spanish readers. I hope they can truly pass this journey. Fall in love with Chinese literature and Chinese culture."
