In this book, Huang Xiaoji, a well-known writer of vernacular prose, describes more than seventy kinds of southern countryside food delicately and vividly with exquisite strokes, and matches them with a large number of colourful illustrations of artistic value and exquisite layout, which realistically reproduces a southern countryside on the tip of the tongue and the smoky years in a southern village, and it is a biography for the diets of the southern farming villagers.

Author

Huang Xiaoji
Born in 1969 in Eight Centimeters Village in the mountainous area of southern Hunan Province, Huang Xiaoji is a member of the Chinese Writers' Association and the Chinese Prose Society, and has been awarded the Sun Li Prize for Prose and other prizes. In recent years, he has taken his birthplace as a sample to write about the social changes in the villages of southern China, and has written a number of collections of essays in the series of "Memories of Eight Centimeters", including "The Aging Village" and "The Time of Eight Centimeters".
