Description

Twenty-three animals of the wild speak out, confiding in us. Their joys, their appetites, their foibles, and their nostalgia. Did you know that the skunk gave its name to the city of Chicago? The bear admits that it stinks, and the beaver that it takes a malicious pleasure in seeing a human hysterically trying to undo its dams with his bare hands. But more than a collection of comments and confidences, this bestiary is the call of the great Nature and its inhabitants who cry out not to be forgotten. An ideal book to help discover and appreciate our natural heritage, for the youngest by the illustrations, and for the oldest by the richness of the texts.

The texts by the famous anthropologist Serge Bouchard, were written in his most playful and learned style, and lavishly illustrated with works by Pnina C. Gagnon, a painter who also has her own style, oscillating between realism and naive art.
