Everyone sleeps.
Moms and dads sleep.
Sisters, brothers, grandmothers, grandfathers... they all sleep!
And animals sleep too.

Part primer, part picture book, part documentary, this album presents the surprising sleeping habits of 26 animals living at all latitudes. How does the salamander sleep? Where does the beaver sleep? Does the butterfly close its eyes to sleep? Why does the giraffe sleep standing up? How does the dolphin sleep on the open sea? This book will answer the questions of all curious little ones!

Author

Iris Amizlev is an art historian and works as a curator at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. She was inspired by her role as a parent of two children when she wrote Everyone Sleeps. Since their birth, Iris read to Aidan and Na’ama before going to sleep. Iris was motivated to create a book that would be part of a nightly routine, thereby helping other parents.

The illustrations are by Pnina C. Gagnon, a professional artist whose works are featured in public and private collections in Canada and abroad and exhibited in both group shows as well as solo exhibitions. She illustrated Confessions animales. Bestiaire (more than 6500 units sold) by the famous anthropologist Serge Bouchard.
