For readers accustomed to the intricate magical system of Harry Potter or the complex dynasties of Game of Thrones, this novel delivers the thrilling impact of a brand-new, meticulously crafted, and deeply mystical power system.

★ This is a phenomenal fantasy masterpiece, hailed by international media as "a story for all mankind," sparking a global reading frenzy, particularly resonating with Gen Z readers.

★ "The price for drinking the potion that grants god-like power may be the gradual loss of your own humanity. With each step upward, you draw closer to divinity, but farther from yourself."

Description

In the Kingdom of Loen, steam engines roar, great ships sail, and difference engines (a type of fantastical mechanical computer) herald a technological dawn. Yet beneath the seemingly rational glow of the "Epoch of Black Iron" lurks a mad world of secret societies, eerie Sealed Artifacts, and unspeakable evil deities. A fragile balance is maintained by seven orthodox deities and four northern nations, while "Beyonders"—those who walk the supernatural path by consuming Sequence potions—navigate the edge between light and shadow.

Our protagonist, Zhou Mingrui, awakens to find himself in the body of Klein Moretti, a recent history graduate of Khoy University. After being entangled in a supernatural incident, he is forced to drink the "Seer" potion to survive and cling to the faint hope of returning home. This act throws him into this dangerous, mysterious world and leads him to join the official Beyonder organization, the "Nighthawks."

Klein soon discovers that this world's mysteries are far more bizarre and perilous than he imagined. By chance, he accesses a supreme realm called "Sefirah Castle" and uses it to masquerade as "The Fool," an ancient deity stirring from slumber. He establishes an online (via ritual magic) secret gathering, the "Tarot Club," gathering Beyonders from across the world, each with their own motives, around him. This becomes his way to gather information and resources, struggling to survive in the cracks between formidable powers.

However, true horror descends abruptly. While investigating a series of strange events, Klein's Nighthawk squad falls victim to a plot by followers of the evil deity, "The True Creator." His captain, Dunn Smith, whom he regarded as an elder brother and mentor, sacrifices himself to protect the team. This loss irrevocably changes Klein. Driven by vengeance and a desire to pierce the fog shrouding history and the gods, he embarks on a perilous path of advancement.

From then on, Klein assumes multiple identities, seamlessly shifting between roles: a detective, a tycoon, a pirate, a mad adventurer. He maneuvers among orthodox churches, secret organizations, royal nobility, and the will of indescribable evil gods. Climbing from Sequence 9 "Seer," he uses his wits, courage, and the power of his Tarot Club companions to inch closer to his enemies and the truth. Ultimately, he achieves his revenge and touches the realm of divinity, becoming a half-Celestial of "The Lord of the Mysteries." Yet, the ultimate price follows: pollution from the will of the primordial creator, "The Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth," forces him, after winning everything, into a long, silent slumber—a battle to preserve his remaining humanity and sanity. This is an epic about sacrifice, identity, and the fight against madness; the legend of "The Fool".
