Description
On June 15, 1767, Baron Cosimo Piovasco di Rondò climbs a tree in his garden and never comes down again. What seems like only a fit thrown to avoid eating a plate of snails turns into a rebellious act that will revolutionize his entire life. In the trees, Cosimo’s lives his days in freedom, learns to take care of himself and protect the nature around him, and makes some rather surprising friendships.
Author
Italian Resistance movement he worked, in various capacities, for
the publisher Einaudi. An active contributor to newspapers and
magazines, he co-directed ‘il menabò di letteratura’ with Vittorini. His works include: The Spider's Nest Trail (1947), Last Comes the Raven (1949), The Cloven Viscount (1952), Italian fairy tales (1956), The Baron in the Trees (1957), The Nonexistent Knight (1959), Marcovaldo (1963), The Cosmicomics (1965), The Invisible Cities (1972), If One Winter's Night a Traveler (1979), Palomar (1983). Calvino is one of the most widely read authors in the world.
SARA COLAONE is a comic book author, illustrator and lecturer. Her novels have been published in several languages. In 2017, she won the prestigious Gran Guinigi prize at Lucca Comics & Games with Leda. She teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and collaborates with MOdE - Museo Officina dell’Educazione of the University of Bologna. She is the comics editor for the magazine Nuovi Argomenti.
