Feature

★ A masterpiece by Xia Shang, a representative writer of Chinese post-avant-garde literature, asking questions about the soul! His novels have been selected for "Advanced Readers of Contemporary Chinese Short Stories" by Duke University in the United States.
★ This book includes Xia Shang's two novellas My Sister Lover and Hate, which tells the story of two first love with rich connotations, and the ripples that stir the lake of the heart cannot be quelled for a long time.

Description

My Sister Lover tells the emotional entanglement of the protagonist as a photographer and the sisters Qige and Qi Yu. In the end, shortly after giving birth to her and the protagonist's daughter, Qi Yu committed suicide by cutting her wrists due to a kind of strange skin disease and disfigurement.

Hate tells the story of the heroine Hang Zi, who is considered "mentally abnormal," and the hero, who is her former primary school classmate. The unexpected ending is regrettable--it turns out that the heroine and her first love boyfriend, Dabing, had such a deep love, but after reuniting with Dabing who hasn't been heard of for many years, she chose to kill him...

“How is she now?” My voice trembled a little.
“He died soon after giving birth to Beijun.”
“Beijun is Qi Yu's daughter?” I was stunned.
“It's your and Qi Yu's daughter.”
“My daughter?”
"After Qi Yu gave birth to Beijun, she cut her artery and white spots covered her face within half a year. She had lost her beauty when she died." Meng Hebing's tears rolled down her cheeks.
My tears welled up in my eyes.
