Description
The most famous psychologists were not immune to diseases such as depression (William James) or paranoia (Reich). Maslow was the creator of the hierarchy of needs, but he severely lacked self-esteem. Therapists such as Masters, Johnson, Fritz Perls, as well as Marston who is the creator of the lie detector and the Wonder Woman, also have unspeakable secrets.
This book reviews women’s contributions which is neglected by history (Christiana Morgan, Bertha Pappenheim, or Lucia Galleazzi), as well as the evilest psychological experiments, including the unfortunate experience of Pávlov's dog, and the fact of the baby Albert used by behaviorist Watson. Likewise, these psychological tests have a peculiar history due to their romantic story (T.A.T. was created by a couple in love) and their wide gap (intelligence tests used for war and eugenics purposes).
In this book, we will learn about the darkest side (Hitler's psychoanalysis, CIA interrogation, etc.) and the brightest side (the liberation of the alienated, humanism, etc.) of this scientific discipline called psychology.
