Description
To look behind the façade, to see the inside of a person, see the soul - big and powerful words, which the exceptional duo Heinz Janisch and Michael Roher transform into a calm and unhurried picture book. The text flows, poetic and relaxed, through the pages as the first-person narrative of an undefined boy, depicting his innermost being as a snow lion whomostly moves smoothly through the world but who cannot let injustice stand. Transposed into pictures that are entirely in blue and (almost) exclusively drawn with biros, they produce a very special effect and surprise the reader with their different interpretative approaches. Respect and tolerance, trust and reliability, the acceptance of diversity ... everything that makes good social interaction possible in the first place, is packed into a picture book.
A true work of art that will resonate for a long time.
