In the mountains of madness describes the expedition of a group of scientists to Antarctica in order to make a series of observations and studies. At a certain moment, they find the fossil remains of some extraordinarily evolved beings that cannot be classified as animals or plants, and discover a mountain range higher than the Himalayas that houses some unusual buildings on its summit. Then, the base camp scientists are excited about the discovery and decide to go meet their colleagues. However, a storm interrupts the transmission, delaying the departure and the arrival of the second group. This will be the beginning of a vertiginous odyssey in which mystery, dementia and death will intertwine.
