Description

“There is a gulf between prose and drama, an impressive canyon, if not an abyss. But someone has to step up and fill the gap. The prose writer's work can be expressed in many ways. But for the work of a dramatist, it is the only way to express it. Just like the violin is not the only instrument that can be used in a band, but there are some sounds that only the violin can make. This book is not an attempt to 'leap over the gorge'. I am still in my dramatic experiments, and these characters bear the hallmark of prose: they prefer to express themselves in words rather than in action.” - Evgeny Vodolazkin
