Description

Numbers and the Plum Tree tells us the story of a neighborhood where the garden is turned into a parking lot. One morning they cut down the trees including our main character, a plum tree. Through the eyes of 16 characters who live in the neighborhood, we see how different people, animals and objects perceive this change. The caterpillar misses its lunch, the woman who planted the plum tree gets sad, while a boy simply enjoys watching construction cars and a businessman doesn t even understand what is missing. There are simple math problems in the story such as How many plums did the tree have? or How old was the plum tree? This picture book brings together the theme of environment and biodiversity with math. While reading the story of the plum tree, children will solve simple math problems. All the illustrations are designed with numbers.
