Author

Nicky Johnston is a Melbourne-based children’s book author and illustrator. Her illustration style is often described as whimsical, playful, narrative, emotive and dreamy. She works in watercolour, pencil, pastel, gauche and oils. As well as creating children’s books, she loves to keep herself busy running workshops and presenting in schools.

Caroline Tuohey is an award-winning writer whose main interest is picture books. She has also been published in children’s literary magazines, anthologies and poetry sites online.
Piper Picks the Perfect Pet is her sixth picture book. Her other interest is bush poetry which she writes and performs. She lives on a farm with one husband, two children and numerous pets.
