Description

Even in the far future, people will still feel lonely and isolated, longing to touch something else. Wherever I stay and whenever I live, I would never give up mutual understanding. ——Kim Cho-Yeop

Can you imagine what the world will be like in the future?

As the most notable author of the new generation, Kim Cho-Yeop uses seven pieces of short stories to create a Utopia that can move at the speed of light. In that world, humans can travel around the universe. Living in the perfect environment built on technology, contact with extraterrestrial intelligence will not stay a fantasy anymore; furthermore, when people die, their souls can even be uploaded to the cloud.

Living in such a highly developed universe, we will still feel isolated…

▍ Why Did Pilgrims Always Leave Without Return

If everyone can be the perfect “New Humans”, shall we get happiness since that?

▍ Spectrum
Communicating with the intelligence from outer space, can emotions transcend language?

▍ Symbiosis Theory
The collective memory of this world relies on the very essence of the eternal yearning for extraterrestrial hometown.

▍ If We Cannot Move at the Speed of Light
How to convey the memory that transcends time to others?

▍ Universal Nature of an Emotion
Would you like to purchase the melancholy that has condensed into the substance?

▍ Book Missing Inside Library
Can the soul upload after death be possibly understood or excused by people alive?

▍ As For My Cosmic Hero
Are all the sacrifices counted worthwhile for having a look at the scenery on the other side of the universe?

In this book, there is a disabled young girl, a biologist kidnapped by aliens, old people waiting for years in the abandoned space station, a daughter who cannot find her mother’s mind back, and an astronaut who has undergone arduous training. Through their life stories, Kim Cho-Yeop has written down the most tender science fiction of this generation, which resembles a warm hug that leads us to walk across time and space, the perfection and flaws, to find the possibility that humans can start from mutual communication and understanding to become inclusive and even love each other.
