Gobind Vashdev was born and spent his childhood through adolescence in Surabaya. He then moved to Jakarta and finally settles in a village in Bali called Ubud. Gobind did not graduate from college, but since he was a kid he has a great interest in informal lessons. For him, everyone is a teacher, every place is a school, and every hour is learning time. Gobind continues to travel to places of conflicts and disasters in Indonesia to perform social activities. In his seminars and trainings, Gobind always motivates others to constantly do something to make this world a more beautiful place, think bright, live simpler with healthy diet without hurting other living creatures, and care for nature. He’s been a vegetarian for more than 20 years. And he does not use soap, shampoo, toothpaste, or materials that are burdensome to nature. For him, nature is a teacher that is already too kind to us that it deserves our respect and nurture.
