Description

This book takes children's selective mutism as the theme to help children overcome the fear of speaking in public.
Selective mutism is a complex anxiety disorder. Children with selective mutism are often unable to speak in certain social situations, even if they do not have language or speech problems in other environments (such as at home).
This picture book describes how the young protagonist Anna faces pain and fear, even though she wishes to communicate with her friends in the kindergarten. In this case, adults often try to help children by encouraging them to speak. However, such encouragement often leads to the opposite result. Children will be more introverted. This book will tell us what children really think and really need. What is it?
