1
Here it is ladies and gentlemen the eccentric story
About a band of athletic and some kind weird animals.
They are about to participate to fantastic games,
Ready to impress us, dazzle their audience.
Soe zeal in the legs, they have energy.
Feathered or furry, insects or mammals
They enlighten the flame during a ceremony
And declare opened those zoolympics games !
2
Let’s begin with the high and long jump.
And so as not to lose anything about the athletes’ exploits
A magnifying glass is offered to each spectator.
Today the best is the flea Gratouillette (means little scratchy)
She trained with an old locust
Who met her on a Basset’s back.
Our champion flea and her gold medal
Deserve now at least a Labrador !
3
Now on the stadium, new competition
Who is the fastest ? The ostrich or the cheetah ?
On the departure line, here some champions.
The rabbit Rikiki (means very very little) stands in a lane.
The gunshot scared him so much
That he generously wins in front of his adversaries
As he is very used to escaping from the hunters.
The other competitors remained far behind.

In the center of the course, a spectacular sport :
The pole jumpers are about to run.
Race number 8 Jennifer the giraffe
Quickly soars and jumps ! Nice crossing !
Oops ! Her long neck twisted during the effort.
We’re going to need 10 tubes of ointment
And a few specialist masseurs
If she wants to run for the next Olympiads !
5
Gymnastics is scheduled.
Zantar the chimpanzee believes is the strongest.
But nothing is done since arrives Jo the hippo
Shaped in his beautiful leotard
He worked very hard to keep up with the challenge.
Everybody takes his chance at the zoolympics games
On the uneven bars, the monkey shows off
And falls on the ground. Jo is the winner, it’s fantastic !

Author

[Author] Marie Tibi
I grew up in the Hauts-de-France and then moved to Provence, where I have lived since 1977. It was education taught me to write, and my enlightenment books were the fables of La Fontaine and the poems of Jacques Prevert, which I would like to recommend here for you. I have a special love for nature and animals, especially enjoy observing them and learning about them that every creature in nature has its specialties. I often create bizarre or poetic stories or adventures, and sometimes I climb to the roof like a cat to ask the moon for inspiration. My work is usually a mix of 2 doses of fantasy, 1 handful of optimism, and 1 spoonful of humor, finished off with a few words to polish and sculpt. Until now, I have written and published over 40 children’s books.

[Illustrator] Luca Tambasco
I am Italian. I grew up in a city close to Venice. I have always been particularly fond of drawing and my parents bought me lots of brushes when I was a child. Naturally I studied pattern art from high school and then entered the University of Fine Arts in Bologna to study illustration. Now I live in Turkey and have illustrated for many works, including: novels, picture books, posters, and more. My favorite thing is illustrating children’s books, every piece I draw is beautiful and detailed that you can find something new every time you look at it. I hope the animals in this book make you smile and you will find all of them in your life one day.
