Description

"Three apples fall from the sky, one for those who see it, one for those who tell stories, and one for those who hear stories." Readers will linger in this story, sometimes sobbing, sometimes smiling, sometimes choking their throats.

This book revolves around the saga of generations of inhabitants of an isolated alpine village in Armenia whose only connection to the outside world is an old telegraph and a road that is difficult for even herds of cattle to walk. The villagers here are also weird, most of them are superstitious and believe in the existence of magic. Love and pain, friendship and feud, revenge and forgiveness have shaped the lives of generations in this village. Here is Anatolia, the only descendant of the oldest family that survived the Great Famine, whose husband fled the village after abusing her; and Vaseli, the blacksmith widow who Losed 3 sons and a younger brother in World War II, her other brother rescued the people of the village in a landslide on a premonition. There is also a man named Yasaman, a friend and neighbor of Anatolia, who always treats people in the village with herbs he has prepared. There is also a white peacock that mysteriously appeared in the village during times of famine. Everything in the village was going well until a miracle changed it all - Anatolia, 58, found out she was pregnant...

Here is the life of very ordinary Armenians, their customs and traditions, little joys and sorrows. As if time stopped here, a completely different life, another value. The people who live here, their spiritual strength, kindness and mutual help are amazing. They survived war, unpredictable nature and loss of loved ones. Over the years, they have become each other's family. Through the words in the book you can feel that atmosphere, you can smell the herbs, the freshly baked bread in the oven, the milk, the simple country food, and you can see the cracks running along the walls of the house, the cliffs An old shop nearby, and the white peacock that can take away the soul. The author's capture and portrayal of the ancient village is full of breathless beauty and melancholy, and the white peacock will be the only witness and interpreter at the end of the novel.
