★About the life of a woman surrounded by secrets and lies. This book tells the story of a woman who lives a completely different life starting with a small lie. A sense of relative deprivation compels the protagonist to lie and eventually, she loses a part of herself and her life. The name I want to have, the life I want to steal
Begin with a small lie, and my life takes a 360-degree turn.

Name, education, occupation, family, gender…nothing is real.
A woman living a life full of lies suddenly disappears one day.

"I" haven't written a novel for 7 years. One day, I encounter an interesting advertisement in the newspaper. The ad reads, "Looking for this book's author." Following the words is a section of a novel. "I," who am just reading the ad for fun, feel shocked. This novel turns out to be the work "I" submitted to the literary and art exhibition a long time ago. I forgot all about it after failing to make the cut.

"I" immediately contact the newspaper and ask it to take down this ad. However, an unexpected person calls "me." It is Jane. She is looking for her husband who disappeared 6 months ago. Surprisingly, Jane says her husband is the impostor who masquerades as the author. The husband's lies go far beyond this. The "novelist husband" is actually a woman who has lived a life full of lies even before meeting Jane.

The liar is Lee Anna. She did not graduate from college, but she is an editor of a school magazine. She was never exposed to musical instruments, but she has been a professor in the piano department of a university. She does not have a medical certificate, but she is a doctor. At the same time, she is also the wife of three different men and the husband of one woman. The deeper my investigation of Anna goes, the more curious I get about her life. It seems that as long as I follow her whereabouts, I can accumulate more materials for my novels...

The plot is full of reversals and lies. Then what kind of truth is hidden behind all of this? To be honest, "stealing life" is not a refreshing story setting, but this book focuses more on human nature rather than on making readers feel good (like most shows do). Anna's lie-driven achievements do not make readers feel good; instead, they feel bitter, sorrowful, grieved, and resigned. Of course, readers feel so not because they "pity her misfortune; condemn her resignation." The real reason is that they lament how society makes human nature so distorted.

The good and evil of a person always complement each other. Although the evil side of Anna will be despised and spurned by others, her good part will also be coveted and praised. This is the complexity of human nature. This is the most real person.Read More

Collections of stories: Laugh for Me, Annie, Wine and Vanilla
Novels: Sea of the Moon, Little Chicago, Intimate Stranger.

Comments about her books from critics: her books stay true to the traditional way of storytelling, with no emphasis on reflecting genre elements or experimenting with new styles. Her books do not demonstrate imagination commonly used in science fiction by young writers, but draw from reality. Her words are innocent, clear, and emotional. Her refreshing style somewhat releases a sense of mystery.

Awards: Literature Village Writer Award, Kim Yong-ik Novel Literature Award, Han Moo-sook Literature Award, Kim Seung-ok Literature Award, Daesan University Literature Award.
