Description

Yunnan province in China is a magical land, where there are not only the colorful cultures of 26 ethnic groups, but also the world-famous Kingdom of Plants, Kingdom of Animals and Kingdom of Non-ferrous Metals. The climate in Yunnan is also diverse, which known as "Cubic Climate", because tropical, subtropical, temperate and cold climate types from hot to cold are concentrated in Yunnan.
The earth not only shows its magic and beauty in Yunnan, but also provides us with rich resources, especially plants. Among these thousands of plants, there is a class of plants still being mysterious, which are wild fungi, such as Matsutake Mushrooms, Yellow Morels, Golden Ear Mushrooms, Oyster Mushrooms, Dictyophora, Sarcodon aspratum, Boletus edulis Bull, Sparasis crispa, Russula virescens, Chanterelles, ColumnarAgroc, KingBolete, Lactarius, Truffle, Cordyceps, LingChih, Tall Gastrodiae, and etc.
This illustrated book is made by a Chinese famous cartoonist Li Chuanzhi (also be called Za Shi) and Kunming Edible Fungi Association together, and as the first hand-drawn wild fungi popular science picture book in China, it begins with the growing environment and appearance of various wild fungi and focus on fun and popularization of science.

Author

Hua rong is the Vice President and Researcher of the Yunnan Edible Fungi Industry Development Research Institute. She is hailed as one of the most beautiful science and technology professionals in the Yunling area and has been recognized as a talent in technological innovation and a science and technology envoy in Yunnan Province. She is a core member of the Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Team "Domestication, Cultivation, and Value-added Utilization of Specialty Edible Fungi." Additionally, she serves as a member of the 10th Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, a representative of the 17th People's Congress of Wuhua District, and the Vice President of the Yunnan Provincial Science Popularization and Education Base Federation.
With 17 years of experience in the protection, breeding, cultivation, and popularization of edible fungi resources, Hua rong has led and participated in over 40 national and provincial-level edible fungi research projects and contributed to the formulation of nine edible fungi standards. She has published over 40 papers in domestic and international academic journals and has taken on the role of chief editor for five books and contributor for two books. Furthermore, she has applied for over 20 national invention patents, developed multiple new edible fungi varieties, obtained two variety identifications, and achieved four provincial and ministerial-level scientific research results.
Hua rong has made remarkable contributions in the field of edible fungi. Her scientific research achievements and professional knowledge have significantly contributed to the development and popularization of the edible fungi industry in Yunnan Province.
