“What do people live for?”
This is a 25-year journey to find a way through life with people who have different stories.

In the 25 years, the author, lawyer Zhao Yu, has made numerous friends in and out of court. Those who rise from the mire of frustration, those who fall from the peak of success through arrogance, those who lose everything, those who abuse the trust of others maliciously, those who sacrifice their own safety to protect their families...

These stories make the author laugh, cry, rage, and touch. After experiencing these cases, he brought up many questions—“What should we live for?” “What kind of relationships should we have with our families, neighbors and colleagues?” “Where should we go to find solutions to conflicts?” “What is this so-called lucky life?” These two books are a journey to find answers.

All the life stories in these books show a common truth that is “Everything in the world starts with people and ends with people”. We live in a world where the whole world is connected, but we forget that our present and past, as well as our future, are interconnected and affect each other.

Lao Zi said: “Justice has long arms”. It means “The net of heaven is very large and wide, and at first glance it is sparse, but it does not miss anything, including good for good, evil for evil. These books will let you know how dense the net is in the sky. Once we know this, most of the time in our life we will not stand in the same spot forever for lies, desire, traumas and complaints.

“After all, living is for today’s joy and present happiness.”
So a joy is worth a thousand worries. This is life.

A Joy Is Worth a Thousand Worries is not fiction but a true story beyond the truth. Its resonance is unique, deep and broad. During the process of reading, you will have a strange but warm experience. That is, laughter and tears, admiration and lament, joy and sadness are intertwined. What’s more, you will find at the end of the curve, there is a flat. In thousands of sorrows, there is also a joy. Therefore, we have taken another step in the face of life and in the face of the truth.

Description

“Lawyer Woo, Please save my husband. My husband would never be like that.”
“I’m gonna report my son. I said I’m gonna report my son!”
“I was just being kind. I was being kind. Why did that happen to me?”
“My objection to my sister’s marriage is that...!”

The two dramatic essays are based on true stories, each closely related to the other, and show the same high degree of completion as watching a short TV series, leaving readers with endless memories.
The first book, About Life and Attitude, reminds people to reflect on what kind of relationships they have lived in the past and what kind of relationships they should live in the future.
The second book, About Jobs and Choice, includes very interesting essays and wisdom: It can be as small as how to resolve small squabbles with family, colleagues and neighbors without conflict or regret, or as big as how to resolve conflicts and crises that put you at the crossroads of your life. These contradictions and crises are problems that everyone may encounter in social interaction.

The father went to the police station to report his son, and the wife found the true face of her husband whom she had loved for decades. It’s a breathtaking story of giving 50000 won taxi fare but losing 140 million won…

These stories are full of life twists and turns, showing a whirlpool of joy, anger, sorrow and joy.
