He is the Strauss in the investment holding company Stocks & Strauss, an entity through which he has backed more than 50 businesses.
An MBA graduate, Daniel teaches his alma mater at the University of Stellenbosch Business School. He also holds an engineering degree and was a keen rugby player and athlete at university.
He is married to Rolene, a former Miss South Africa and Miss World. They have two children and live in the Cape Winelands.
