Bright times and sorrowful times: Original letters and contemporary documents enrich this very personal and touching kaleidoscope of tales out of the life of an exceptional artist.
Author
Erich Weidinger grew up in the Styrian "Salzkammergut", Austria - Gustav Klimt's favorite place of retreat. After taking up an apprenticeship as a hairdresser as well as undergoing pedagogical education, he later on worked with disadvantaged children. His great love for literature and myths brought him into book trade and to being a writer himself. In addition, he is an advocate for the promotion of reading. In 1988, exactly 30 years ago, Erich Weidinger participated in an exceptional art exhibition in Austria which focused on the artists Richard Teschner, Gustav Klimt and Emilie Flöge. Due to this and to his brother who works as an art historian, he continually came across the phenomenon "Klimt".
