Description

★ What is the role of mathematics in our life? Is it just to solve the accounting problem of consumption? Of course more than that! Our life is closely related to mathematics! Our life is closely related to mathematics! This book shows the great fascination of mathematics, not only for mathematics lovers but also for those who once had a great headache for mathematics.

What is trigonometry, and how is it related to the mathematicians Tartaglia and Pascal? What is the summation symbol? Could Athens in 430 BC fulfill Apollo's request? How did the architects of the seventeenth century calculate their structures? These and many other questions will spark our interest in mathematics.
This book goes beyond many math books on arithmetic, geometry or algebra topics. Instead, it is a compendium that captivates the reader by presenting a vast mathematical universe by accommodating a wide variety of disjointed contents: from the origin of the most common mathematical symbols to analytical geometry, through the importance of some algebraic features in solving elementary mathematical problems, or the indirect measurement of lengths with the help of the astrolabe. We will also learn about the contributions of famous mathematicians such as Pythagoras, Pascal, and Santiago Arava.
