Description

In this book, Max’s parents suggest Max living with his grandfather in the south of Brazil for a few days, and Max agrees. During the time he spends with his grandparents, Max makes major discoveries about his own ancestry: Their Birthplace in Germany, their childhood situation, and reasons for moving to Brazil. In addition, Max learns about German culture through the food his grandfather made and some of the urban architectures. The short time that the two generations spent together taught them both how important it was to sustain their roots. Lastly, the book also provides some information about German culture.

Author

[Author] Martin Wille
Born in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, he studied literature at the Catholic University of São Paulo and obtained a master’s degree in comparative literature in Germany. After living there for 20 years, he returned to Brazil to conduct pedagogical programs in various schools. Currently lives in São Paulo with his wife and daughter.

[Illustrator] Daniel Araújo
He is an academic, born in 1975, graduated from the School of Urban Planning and Architecture of São Paulo. He is also an illustrator and has collaborated with several magazines, books and advertising activities. He has also produced cartoons and the latest microfilm “Towers Without Steps”. Besides, he has participated in music festivals in Brazil and performances in Spain.
