Author

Jerzy Rafalski

Already in pre-school his mom told him stories about comets and his father about the Big Dipper. Several years later he made his first telescope out of his grandmother’s glasses and a sewage pipe. His commitment was noticed by Santa Claus himself, who brought him binoculars which allowed to see the moons of Jupiter. His passion
for space led him to the Astronomy Club at the largest observatory in Poland and later to the university where he became an astronomer. He has observed the sky over the Atacama Desert in Chile and over the Arctic Spitsbergen. He works at the Planetarium in Toruń, preparing cosmic movie screenings, from script to 3D animation. He also shares his passion on radio and TV programs
